So happy to hear that I am not the only one.thought I was just an idiot for the last month!! I have Office 2010 but it does not has Access but I did not want to buy Access before I was totally sure that it did what I required so I decided to trial Office Professional Plus 2013, which has Access! So I opened a Microsoft account.PLEASE NOTE I have only ever opened 1 Microsoft account; which this one for this trial!
I followed the instructions eg. 32-bit, etc & downloaded the Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013.all was fine.except when I went to use Access & it asked to sign into my account & then I get a message saying that the product is not linked to my account????? SO, I thought ok perhaps I did something wrong so I uninstalled the product & then did it all again and downloaded the product again.remembering please that I live out in the bush in South Africa & I only have 3GB of mobile internet per month (no landline or ADSL lines out here!!) so have used/wasted almost 2GB trying to sort this out!! AND what do you know!!!??? It has done exactly the same thing & is telling me that the product is not associated with my Microsoft account!! AAAAAARRRRGGGHHHH, this is so frustrating PLEASE HELP!!!
I have spoken to 2 people the 'Online Support' via Chat, who could not help and they have given me a Cape Town number, which is only 365 business support and both people I spoke to there have not been able to help so put me through to another number and an automated voice asks you to dial a number into to keypad to 'verify' you but when you type it in it just says 'sorry I cannot verify you'! Goodness gracious if THEY JUST WANT YOU TO BUY THE PRODUCT WITHOUT TRIALLING IT THEN THETY SHOULD NOT OFFER A TRIAL!!! Thanks, Bill. Hi, I have not tried to activate the other applications (in fact I have not loaded them onto my PC at all) because I have licensed Office 2010 with those applications. If you think that it might help to activate the product then I will load the other applications but I cannot see why that would make any difference?? Anyway, I tried your suggestion 'Run As Administrator' but it made no difference at all; I still get the same error - 'The account isn't associated with this product. Please sign into the account associated with your product'. Hi Billold, Thank you for your reply.

However you may also refer the link provide below to install office, Let us know the status of the issues for better assistance. Oh dear, I can see that this is not going to be resolved anytime soon & the trial period is going to be over before I have actually had time to actually TRIAL the application. Isn't there someone from Microsoft who can actually get to the bottom of this?.I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM!!! In answer to your reply.'
As per the description provided, it looks like you are having issues with installing Office 2013': No, I am NOT having ANY difficulty installing the 2013 Office product, if you read my email carefully, it installed WITHOUT any problems!!!!! I have done EVERYTHING suggested in your reply and nothing works. There is quite obviously a bug in Microsoft's trial which needs to be resolved from Microsoft's side not from our side.PLEASE JUST GET SOMEONE FROM MICROSOFT TO FIX IT & ALLOW US TO START THE TRIAL AGAIN. I had the same problem as posted here and as repeated in comments below it. This was the first hit when searching for an answer so I am answering here that I have found what I think is the solution: Go to the following address and log in to your Microsoft account.
In the top right corner you should see that you are logged in, but you will also see below the 'sign out' text is something that says 'create account' or similar. I can not remember what it said exactly, and having created an account I now can not see the original text. By clicking this you are creating a Technet Evaluation account that is linked to your currently signed in Microsoft account. Provide a new username and continue. Now return to the previous page (the link above).
You will now see that your new Technet Account name is shown in the top right corner of the page. Now continue to re-register for the Office trial (the green 'Get Started Now' button). Re-enter your registration info. Next comes the big step.
Once the registration is successful you will be taken to a screen showing you your activation key for the trial period. Just copy that into the activation window next time you open an office application and your trial will commence. It seems every other way I tried to register for this trial failed because I hadn't signed up for a Technet Account. Hope this solves other people's problems.
